• Provides leadership and supervision to the IT activities of the organization
• Ensures acquiring, deploying, and leveraging IT resources effectively
• Assesses and communicates risks associated with IT investment to executive management
• Recommends new technological advancements and system requirements
• Oversees the activities involved in the installation and administration of IT networks, software and infrastructure
• Keeps current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices
• Coordinates with management team to understand what services they require and advise them on where IT might make a difference to the business
• Provides training and development for the IT staff when required i.e. when acquiring new equipment or hiring new personnel
• Monitors the IT staff’s cooperation with all departments to ensure continuous delivery of IT services throughout the organization
• Ensures that robust contingency, risk management and business continuity plans are in place to mitigate the effects of any possible halts or impediments to the IT system
