1. Establishes reasonable project development schedules from concept to production implementation using the Polaris Development Process.
2. Participates in design reviews for engine and chassis systems.
3. Performs detailed studies and design of current vehicle electrical systems, with emphasis on vehicle wire harnesses.
4. Creates electrical drawings and schematics.
5. Interacts with purchasing, testing, manufacturing, and external suppliers as needed for the successful completion of projects.
6. Provides technical expertise in diagnosis of complex electrical questions, designs, or problems.
7. Prepares reports necessary to document system/component designs or results of tests or studies; also prepares minutes of supplier meetings.
8. Analyzes field problems in order to recommend and implement possible solutions.
9. Performs other miscellaneous electrical engineering assignments as requested
10. Conduct and thoroughly document project work, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that are reviewed with management.
11. Support technical reviews, development plans and project with strategic electric vehicle suppliers and within the electric vehicle development community
12. Ensure Electrical testing methods reflect service extremes to ensure electronic reliability
13. Represent Chassis in the integration process of Brake System and other Chassis Electrical systems into the overall vehicle architecture, including requirements definition and testing prior to software release
14. Support quality investigations; meet quality improvement objectives. Lead or assist problem solving activities as appropriate. Identify and propose solutions for software, technical or equipment gaps critical to success.
15. Provide regular status reports and create documentation to support key decisions
16. Knowledgeable in engineering design processes throughout product life cycle (concept, development, product support, end of life);
