• To ensure the Planned/Programmed works are completed timeously and within cost allowable.
• To use technical drawings to plan and prepare the work particular to large precast structures
• Experience with large Precast structures preferably stadium or similar
• Extensive experience and certification in lifting and lifting supervision.
• To ensure the Junior Foreman and Chargehands understand the technical drawings and support them where necessary
• To calculate the quantities of materials required, by accurately measuring the activity, and ensuring the materials required are ordered timeously
• To ensure that all members of the team are working safely in line with the ALEC company policy and procedures, making certain that signs and regulations on site are adhered to
• To ensure that all works are completed using the appropriate safety equipment
• Understand how the contract impacts on the environment and ensure action is taken place to minimise impact
• Implementation of environmental management activities pre, during and post construction
• To be responsible for and manage all hazardous materials on site, ensuring they are labelled, stored, managed and used appropriately
• To be responsible for productivity, ensuring the team is working to optimum capacity, implementing productivity improvement initiatives where possible
• Prepare for and conduct quality checks on fixed reinforcement cages and hardened concrete, ensuring corrective actions are completed
• Support in motivating and leading the construction teams through monitoring performance and coaching team members
• Ensure any works completed in a confined space are completed safely by competent persons with the correct equipment and emergency procedures in place
• To oversee the management of tradesmen and labour, ensuring they are motivated and work as a team
• Support and encourage the more junior members of the team to develop their skills and knowledge
• To complete an overall plan for the section of works ensuring that each of the Foremen are working and planning towards the same purpose.
Experience: 5 - 10 years
